Then visit the Cocos Islands, an unspoilt paradise of low-lying coral atolls with a highest elevation of only 5 metres. Finally you’ll arrive in Fremantle which was once the gateway for the Western Australian gold rush. Today it is the gateway for Perth, the city known worldwide as the ‘City of Light’ since residents lit their house lights and street lights when the American astronaut John Glenn passed overhead in 1962.
