Tenacious' 10th Birthday
The first day of September dawned bright and clear, if a little chilly. By 0900 we had all our passengers aboard for the daysail and set off in bright sunshine. On the way down Southampton Water many of the passengers went climbing before we set sail just off Calshot. With an east-south-easterly wind, we gently sailed down the Thorn Channel and towards Cowes before
handing sail in time for lunch and motoring eastwards towards Ryde. After
lunch we turned round and set lots of sail for the run back west and then up the North Channel and back alongside in the western Docks at 1700. At afternoon smoko, we had a birthday cake! It was a hot, sunny day and everyone seemed to enjoy their time onboard. There were so many people involved in the build who came to share in our celebrations today and it was wonderful to see them all. I won't name names, as it would be unfair to mention some without mentioning others, but I would like to say a very big thank you to all those who were involved in the building process. Ten years on, Tenacious has covered over 175,000 miles and taken more than 8,500 people to sea.
