01/10/2009 - Tenacious

Dated: 01/10/2009

The night watch had a peaceful night under sail with light winds. They left their post at 4am to the news that there was a ship to starboard side on collision course. We were later told that they would not change course and we were forced to change our bearings. After breakfast the captain informed us we were towing a rope and buoy behind. This forced a change of plan as a diving party needed to be sent out to release the rudder. Our resident film star Graham, aka, chef had to be forced into a rather tight wetsuit to prepare for his dive. We hove-to and dotty was lanuched for the mission. The buoy was released and sails set. Porpoises were spotted off the stern and dotty was lanuched for the 2nd time with film crew aboard to take footage of ship under sail. A peaceful calm sailing afternnon towards Portland Bill.

Nursy and chef tried to catch fish with no success. Day ended with much filming.
