02/03/2009 - Tenacious

Dated: 02/03/2009

Well today is change over day, and the weather, having been glorious for the last few days has let us down. The crew going home felt that they were being prepared for the UK! Everybody went off to El Cids last night and I am told a good time was had by all.

So they have gone and the ship is full of lots of new people, some looking slightly apprehensive, although there are plenty of people reassuring them.

However after a buffet supper on deck ( the rain held off until just after everyone had finished), one thing they are all convinced of is that they could be going home considerably heavier than when they arrived. Yes , Graham is on good form!

Tomorrow we sail!.

Version 2: Tenacious awaits Her crew in the port of Santa Catalina in the city of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

Las Palmas is on the island of Gran Canaria, at the centre of the Canary Archipelago.

The new voyage crew arrive slowly throughout the day and even the cool breezes and rain could not deter their spirits or dampen their dreams of sailing on a square rigger.

Baggage was soon put away as the Captain called all hands to the lower mess for a briefing on the voyage and the First mate gave the safety instructions for the night.

The wind for 3rd march is predicted to blow from north/north east, with this knowledge the Captain has decided to travel in a southerly direction.

The daylight hours were soon gone as the new crew either took to their bunks or harbour watches.
