Greetings from the SV Tenacious
It's another glorious day here, with the temperature reaching 20degrees at midday, blue sky and blue sea, could it get any better? We're heading for the port of Yithion, not to be confused with one of our Bosun's Mates who goes by the name of Eifion - did his parents name him after this wonderful place in David Beckham fashion??
On the first night aboard, noises from a starboard cabin made the duty harbour watch believe that our cargo of pigs had escaped, but they were able to confirm that it was only Jim (Forward Starboard Watch leader), snoring much to the annoyance of Bill who was in the bunk below. On the second night the snoring had been replaced with Jim talking in his sleep, if you want to know what he said then the usual brown envelope to PO Box 'reprobate mariners'.
Earlier today at Smoko, the best 1st mate on this voyage, Chris Phillips, was presented with a yellow submarine birthday cake. After blowing out 'the'
candle, he told everyone (who would listen) that he was 35...some of those present are confident he had the numbers round the wrong way!
A number of our voyage crew are from Australia and we have spotted them coiling ropes anti-clockwise, we believe this is due to them living in the southern hemisphere.
Word has reached the ship of poor weather back in the UK of rain, snow and high winds. Well dear reader, let me remind you that more people suffer from sunburn than frostbite and so a little sympathy from you lot is overdue (he says reaching for factor 50!) and anyway, there are 10 empty bunks on this voyage and so you had your chance in joining our suffering this wonderful weather!
This is the 'reprobate mariners' signing off for now AKA Harry and Bill x
