After a fairly late night for some in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the tannoy system calling us to get up was a bit of a shock but a good breakfast sorted most people out.

After breakfast we had the group photos taken and then set to, it was time for the assisted climbs . For an extra treat we were allowed to sail off the berth, rather than motor. It was a very elegant manouvre, which made us all proud to be members of the crew. We soon got the ship going to a steady 7 to 8 knots. We finally got permission to anchor off Los Christianos(Tenerife).

The reason for the delay in getting permission was due to the fact that a ferry had inadvertently parked on the beach (whoops!) and the port authorities were a little bit unhappy!

Once the anchor was down, most people retired to the bar for a social drink and the chance to purchase lots of wonderful JST goodies.

This morning we were up early and away from the anchorage by the time breakfast was over. As the wind was not too obliging today, we motored over to La Gomera, and were tied up by lunch time. As soon as lunch was over we were away, visiting the island, some people even hiring cars to go exploring, while others visited the beach.
