We've had a couple of scorching hot days here in Volos, and although today started off dull and we had a couple of showers it has turned out rather nice - just as well as most people have taken their half day today.
Maintenance is happening, as it does- painting. cleaning, taking sails down, putting them up etc. Have to say taking down the inner jib was quite an exercise, but after a couple of days of hard and dedicated work we seem to have fixed the problem with the damaged foil, so we may have saved ourselves almost £3000, so it must be worth all the aches and pains!
Some of the voyage crew for TNS 280 had arranged to come out early to do some maintenance and are slowly arriving day by day, and the permanent crew are slowly changing over. Pete and David left today- only delayed a couple of days by the strike!! Could be worse, could have been a volcano!
We have been sitting here, the only ship for the race, for a couple of days but two other ships have arrived this afternoon, and I am sure more will get in tomorrow. The jollities start on Monday I believe, but we may be doing open ship at some point over the weekend Sue MP
