Wednesday, October 7th, 0400. Wind 37 (force 8), gusting force 9. The Tenacious surging along. This is exactly the sort of weather she likes and was made for.
0700 wind SW/W, force 4; strong swell still but calmer. Crew gradually emerging, mole-like, from their bunks, a dry toast breakfast for some, others managing a Full English. Life returning the normal! Sky still overcast. Entered Poole Harbour 0930, berthed at 1030. Spirits greatly cheered, though weather still unkind: rain and more rain. Happy Hour alongside Poole town quay in the pouring rain. Our cook produced yet another sterling meal: pea and ham soup, freshly made bread. What a star! What does tomorrow hold for us?
