Forward Port Watch;
There once was a good ship Tenacious
Whose FP watch was rather vivacious
Our leader was Jorgen
Who would wake us, Good Morgen!
And give us the plan of the day.
Our pilot cadet Marky
Was at night oh-so-sparky
But in the morning he woke slightly jaded
But with coffee and cake
He became more awake
And ate everything that cook Dave could make!
Our office girl Hannah
Was bad with a spanner
But could haul ropes like anyone's Mama!
For the day she was blindfold
And obeyed what the cadets told
To escape falling into the hold!
Our mess (wo)man Annie
Worked hard in the galley
And cooked us a feast of beef stew,
The pudding was yummy
Felt good in our tummy
And we wish you could have tasted it too!
The star of our show was Josie
Whose bunk was very cosey
After a hearty breakFAST
And being hauled up the mast
She relaxed with a big brandy glass.
Her buddy was Sue
Who stuck to her just like glue
Coax-ing the sun out with shorts
The bad weather she fought
Even as, her brown legs turned blue!
Our final watch member was John
Whose job was an important one
Letting off all the ropes
Away the ship she did float
But not without our favourite Welsh bloke
Our poem ends here
So alas, do not fear
The bad rhymes have come to their end
We will sleep well tonight
Having used all our might
But showing a sure lack of creative insight!
Love to all at home - keep warm in that snow!
Jorgen, Josie, Marc, Sue, Hannah and John.
