The day started early for Forward Port with the 4am watch. This involved more beautiful sailing, sightings of Venus, Jupiter and Mars, and a fine sunrise. By 10am we were within sight of Rostock (well Warnemunde actually!). We enjoyed the sight of dozens of sail-training vessels in the surrounding water and, after being boarded by the German border police we found our berth. The port authority officials were extremely officious and tried to take control of the entire mooring procedure. Luckily Nick was on hand to put the man with the small moustache in his place. However we were further hindered by an overenthusiastic tourist who hijacked the mooring lines and attempted to push Tricia over the side (sort of). (Are we exaggerating here?? MP) Once successfully moored we decked the ship out with dress flags and enjoyed a much delayed lunch and a much needed rest! We are now looking forward to a trip ashore to explore the port and find the rather crowded but sandy beach we had seen from the sea.
