We sailed overnight after leaving Poole yesterday about 1900hrs, very elegantly springing off, and watched intently by the crew of Royalist. We had a great sail in spite of one of the watches tearing a sail during the evening watch. The weather conditions were dry but cold. Having set two sails ( seven actually) the voyage was nice and smooth.
We arrived in Cherbourg soon after 0900, and tied up in front of Lord Nelson.
We spent the morning doing assisted climbs and taking wheelchairs aloft.
Nancy wanted to try a climb, but found it a bit hard going once she was on the ratlines, so she came down and had a wheelchair aloft experience instead. She and Diddy, our other wheelie have still got big grins stuck on their faces. After this we had the voyage photo, then lunch and then we were free to go ashore. There has been quite a bit of ship visiting between the two ships, and a lot of people have been round to vist the maritime museum, which has a submarine.
