Yesterday morning found the Lord Nelson alongside in Portsmouth. The guides who were on a sleepover were woken at 07.30 for some the night was to short as some assisted with night watches. After breakfast they finished packing and then set to helping with happy hour and scrubbing the decks above and below, before they departed. Then it was a quick dash to stow some stores away and get the bunks for the incoming voyage crew. All were on board and the introductions of the permanent crew and safety briefings started just after 14.00. One guide had a slightly longer than most to get here as she lives in Bermuda.
After the safety brief is time to do an evacuation drill and then hands aloft and a chanced to take down the net topsail. A quiet evening followed with people orientating themselves around the ship and doing the night watches.
