12/08/2008 - Lord Nelson

Dated: 12/08/2008

Today began as all days should – with a full English breakfast. Norway was offering us less than satisfactory weather, mainly rain, but this didn’t stop all the happenings aboard.

Most of the training was able to be fitted in apart from the “up and over” due to the random torrential downpours! After this the Lord Nelson left behind a very soggy Bergen and headed to the open sea where the race is due to begin at 8pm (it was 7pm but at present there is a severe wind shortage – a bit of a problem for a sailing race!)

Everyone’s hopeful for the race prospects – surely we can only improve from 43rd place? Hopefully the North Sea will offer us more than the southerly winds which are forecast.

 Wish us luck!!!!!!!!
