At 1300 hours we boarded the S.V Tenacious. First we were shown to our cabins, and instructed to sign on in the main mess. This gave us a chance to meet the rest of the crew. Unfortunately we were unable to leave port due to bad weather. This included strong winds including gale warnings and heavy down pours of rain. Instead we spent the evening learning the ropes, the best part of this was climbing aloft out onto the yards.
We then spent the rest of the evening socialising and taking turns on watch duty. The following morning the weather had improved enough for us to depart (well at least it was sunny as well as really windy!). Once we got out into the channel the waves started to pick up which made it difficult to eat afternoon tea!
