12/05/2010 - Tenacious
Dated: 12/05/2010
Day started out bright and early with cups of tea. Followed by a riveting disscusion from Piers about general safety on board and the everyday protocol of the ship, only 3 sleepers (people nodding off) which apparently was a new ship record for one of Piers's talks, despite my best efforts I was one of them. Then came the 'Emergency Drills' which all ran smoothly, lunch followed where an abundance of scoffing took place and then came open ship which is always filled with lots of the general Greek population walking the wrong way round the ship and the crew trying to usher them in the oposite direction which I might point out is very hard when you dont speak the native tongue. Needless to say there were a lot of raised hands and bemused faces on board. Now comes my favourite time of the day when we are allowed to go ashore to explore and have a beer. We all had the choice of staying on the ship for tea or to eat ashore, so inevitably I was the first down the 'gang plank'!!! Then once all of the drinks were drunk and cups of tea sunk its time for the bunk!! and the inevitable, blissfull, sleep.
