Now under sail at 5.15 pm and watching a pod of dolphins playing in the bow wave of the Tenacious! So nice to hear the sound of the sea and the wind, and the creak of the ropes.
We arrived yesterday Monday 12th after leaving wet and windy England/Scotland/Wales/Ireland. Warm sunshine and a light breeze promising good conditions. We’ve been introduced to the essentials such as the permanent crew, Graham the cook and the bar….
Before sailing we practised emergency rescue prodedues such as hoisting wheelchairs up stairways and got the chance to climb up into the rigging and venture out along the yard arm. Once on our way learnt the basics of sweating and tailing, coiling ropes, setting the sails.
Now off to a well earned dinner with the promise of more adventure as we head towards the island of La Palma tomorrow.
