14/08/2008 - Tenacious

Dated: 14/08/2008

Before dinner on Wednesday was not a pleasant time. The winds were 50-55 knots. We came into the lee of Margate where we found anchor. The winds were still strong requiring we drop both anchors. After a excellent hearty meal of beef stew and dumplings we had a quiz as entertainment. It was written by our younger crew members. Please note that the permanent crew came in 3rd. But we would like to commend Chris and say hello to his Mum.

Thursday morning we woke to a calmer sea and blue sky. Taking up anchor we sped off toward the Thames. While on route many climbed aloft and tidied up the sails so that we will be impressive when we arrive at Canary Wharf.

Tonight we are tied up at Tilbury Landing Stage. Some will go ashore to a lone pub. We are working well together as a crew and having a fine time.
