We've just received the news that we came 3rd in out Class in the race.
After the race finish we set course for Ustica but the E'ly wind that picked up was in the wrong direction for anchoring. This same wind, however, was from a brilliant direction for setting sail and, with most sails set including Royals and Spanker, we enjoyed a speed of 7 knots. Many of the crew lay on deck in the afternoon sun. Our Captain had set course for San Vito on the north coast of Sicily, where we are to anchor this evening.
There is talk of a 'knees up' in the bar after we anchor. The weather is now glorious after a wet start. We are making 6.335 knots (or is that Euros) and at a heading 190.0567 degrees. There are lots of sails and they look very pretty. We have been fishing and landed nothing - but we did have fish cakes for lunch. James was very confused and offered himself up for spanking?? ( setting the Spanker). Eventually he realised that this was a nautical term and not something you bought at the bordello! It is rumoured that James has produced a magic curry for dinner and it is rumoured that we may be sailing from the anchor tomorrow.
Let's see what happens.
