Yesterday started out very good with a warm breakfast of sausage and cereal and/or croissants and pastries. Then by mid-day there were people queuing to have a look around the ship and the crew were preparing their pirate gear for the parade. A lot of effort was put in for that. At 5 we started heading towards the parade with "drums" (really they were just empty mayonaise buckets and a brush). By 5:50 we were lined up and ready to walk, then the drummers started playing and music filled the air. There was a real carnival atmosphere with samba bands, marching bands, crews from all the different ships, some in uniform, others dressed to party! People lined the streets and cheered as we chanted, sang and Mexican waved our way along. Tenacious of course had the most enthusiastic crew, ably led by Dave who has a suitably loud voice which was used to good effect!!We ended up in the Odyssey Arena where there were presentations, followed by food (not as good as on board but welcome nevertheless) and drink, which in turn was followed by a "Counterfeit Blues Brothers" concert which everyone joined in dancing.
In Hattie's words, it was brilliant! Now it's the morning after...breakfast followed by sightseeing for some, sleep for others.
