Nothing has happened. But then maybe we, the Aft Port watch, have been rather spoilt for excitement during our last two watches which were during the medical emergency on Johann Smidt and the return of Dr Simon by helicopter yesterday. So our 12-4 night watch last night seemed rather uneventful.
Not much to do except to try and steer as closely as possible to the wind to prevent us from sailing back to Bergen and to try and live up to Captain Neil’s expectations. He may not believe it yet but by the end of the voyage we will all be up to Ben Ainslie standard.
We are currently tacking down the British coast to make the most of wind and tides. Once the next low pressure system moves in we will hopefully be in a position to zoom across the North Sea to Holland while making up for the places we recently lost. So keep your fingers crossed the plan works out!
Ever since lunch time today people have started to drop dead in random places murdered by random objects – Kieran was the first victim as Lucy killed him with an eye patch by the main mast. Suspicion and scheming are ruling the ship.
Time to go – we’re to be educated on how to build a log.
Aft Port - Kieran (the dead watch leader), Sally (clean and queasy), Kim (responsible adult), Abi (seafaring technical instructor), Stephen (the Duracell Man), Duncan (the fastest man round the ship), Tom (Mummy’s little boy), Sophia (awol – on mess duty), James (voted “cutest male” on board by Ed) & Karen (my watch leader made me do it)
