Everyone arrived safely, with the exception of 4 late arrivals who mysteriously appeared in the evening, no one saw them coming on(permanent crew did though! MP). After finding our cabins and meeting and greeting the others we were introduced to the permanent crew and our watch leaders.
Afterwards we had several information and safety talks. Then the real work began, as we set off to anchor in the Thames estuary, pulling on mystical ropes, all of which were amazingly heavy and had ridiculous names!
Having set off, most of the able bodied crew were chivvied up the mast and along the yards. All of us had varying degrees of terror on our faces as the wind shook the thin line we were all standing on. This being the case it was still incredibly good fun. After a delicious meal some of us stayed on to take the anchor watch, involving standing around all night watching radar screens and certain points on land, to make sure the ship wasn't drifting.
