16/05/2009 - Tenacious

Dated: 16/05/2009

Happy hour at 9am, what a paradox but it is not everyday that we clean the heads for such a good reason.
Why, even as we scrubbed Peter Snow, yes the Peter Snow, was winding his waytowards Tenacious where everyone was queuing for showers and even searching for conditioner and comb, in the hope that they would be televised on thismomentous day. Off we set, weighing anchor and impersonating a ferry whilst waiting for areal film crew, to assist our resident BBC star Jayme, in gusts and showersand anticipation. At last he arrived, yards were braced sails were set, food was eaten, squalls were spotted, cameras were loaded and with two captains ensuring that Forward Port Watch were up to scratch we hurtled easterly back to ourstarting point.
Interviews ruined by warning blasts on horns, bracing teamsfalling over and Karen chatting up Peter Snow will no doubt present Jayme all sorts of problems in the editing room but we are confident that when the days activities are broadcast on Sunday June 21st, the viewers will be impressed at the excellent permanent crew and the hardworking voyage crew of TNS249. Pressure was off once TV crews had left and yet another exquisite meal prepared by Graham and Sally provided an excellent start to Malcolm's birthday celebrations.
PS. Janet was greatly disappointed to miss her first experience of mess duty by spending nearly an hour up on the yard arm.  Apologies to her messmates.
Fwd Port Watch
We should be on the BBC at 5pm on 21st June 2009, on Lifeline, with many thanks to Jayme, Peter, Trine, and the rest of the camera team.
