We were underway by 0630hrs so we could have a moving breakfast. At 0800hrs we passed anti-aircraft gun defences left from the Second World War. There were a lot of anchored cargo vessels, and an amazing wind farm just before turning onto a new heading towards the Dover Straits.
The sun was up! People were relaxing in the balmy atmosphere enjoying the warm weather. We passed Dover heading west on a new course and started to cross the incredibly busy shipping lane. By 2005hrs the rain started to close in after a beautiful day.
Thankfully forward port watch had come to an end only five sweet minutes before. We must not gloat as we have double watch tomorrow and the weather is set to hold for a day or so.
News flash - The captain has just popped into the main mess and she enquired as to whether everyone has secured all loose articles in our bunks - deep joy!
