Still in Portoferraio last night and many of us went ashore for an Italian Meal. A group of us celebrated Anne's (AP) 58th birthday.
Back on ship Chris and I (FS) were on shore watch until 12 midnight to be entertained greatly by Harry complete with 'silly hat' and beard arriving on the gang plank. Of course, it was 17th March and St Patrick's day. True to Harry's nature, he had reached a pub and persuaded the locals that a celebration was in hand - despite telling them that he was a true Scot from Aberdeen, he was brilliantly dressed as an Irish Leprechaun - the 'silly hat' was not at all silly but a representation of an upturned beer mug.
Harry certainly was in great spirits when he returned.
A beautiful morning and we were let off ship for the morning - whoopee, no Happy Hour yet! Time came after lunch and all back on board meant we were to set off.
Tenacious had seen a great many interested folks visit us - even in the town, when wearing my logoed jumper, I was pointed at - nicely might I add.
Another chance for some of us to go aloft again - really challenging for me to climb the main mast - OK for these youngsters just shinning up there but I have to take it a little more sedately!
Some of us did find Napoleon's house but unfortunately the famous death mask was not held there - got the post card at least - not the T-shirt or the video.
Upper and lower topsails now up as I write, just after smoko, but only a little wind - not going far so it doesn't matter too much as we are only sailing a short distance to the Italian main coast.
