19/03/2010 - Tenacious

Dated: 19/03/2010

It's 1620 and we are now anchored somewhere in the Jungle Book (Camogli) near to Genoa. We departed Portoferraio, Elba yesterday morning in high spirits, experienced the first "weather" of the trip (half of the weather in TNS 274) and James was still ill over the side - poor show, poor show - Possibly due to the Voyage crews' celebration of St. Patrick's day the night before.

Meanwhile on the main deck, Wham have re-formed as some of the Cadets (John, Anthony and Danny) were grinding away (sanding the rails) to the likes of Club Tropicana and Wake Me Up Before You Go Go. At the same time princess of the Cadets, Hev, spent the morning polishing Graham's Stainless steel shelves and Richard, Cumulating Dave's corrections.

The afternoon was spent cruising at high speed through the Gulf of Genoa with the waves erupting on the hull of Tenacious and the rays beating down and the sails plump with wind.

Today, the Cadets spent the early afternoon shooting up in the upper mess with the nurse and her out of date penicillin - into oranges I must add!

The cadets only have 4 working days left on the Lady Tenacious and it is turning into a wooden boat of emotion! Making friends, working hard and having some fun along the way it has been a great experience.

Shaun had a great climb, beating Dave 2nd Mate to the top - respect. Josie caused us all a shock by cracking out her flute and playing some awesome tunes to us while we wrote this blog - thanks for that.
