19/06/2010 - Lord Nelson

Dated: 19/06/2010

We are the forward starboard watch, Sandie, Sarah, Beth, Sophie, Becky and Pam. We are currently sailing very close to the wind at 8 knots under sail. Having set all the sails this morning we are at the helm and on watch whilst the rest of the crew enjoy lunch in the sun. Whilst on watch for other boats and buoys we are also looking out for more wildlife after seeing sharks, whales and dolphins yesterday. To keep us out of the wind last night we anchored in a sheltered bay with a great view of the Cuillins, on the Isle of Skye. This meant that there was no TV signal received on the ship much to the concern of the English permanent crew who are desperate for a TV signal for the football match this evening. The Captain has finally given into their pleas and we are heading towards Uist this evening in hope of receiving some kind of signal, the Scots are all tempted to wear their A.B.E t-shirts!!!!

Mean while we are off the coast of Uist. The view is amazing; blue skies, clear blue water but very windy (force 5) but it’s getting us where we want to go so it’s all good aboard lord nelson. Happy hour is soon approaching so more cleaning of the ship so one or two, or maybe all of us will have to do the heads(toilets) which sounds great (as you see I was being sarcastic LOL) and scrubbing the lower decks YIPPEEEE.. Dinner should be as yummy as the other nights we have had! We will leave it there for today; tell you more about the voyage in more detail at some point. Toodle peeps J from Sandie, Becky, Sarah, Sophie, Beth and Pam (=^.^=)
