Day 2, Intending to set off at 07.00 we discovered the anchor had caught on its chain. 2nd Mate Dave and others got into the boat and untangled it: even so, departure was delayed. Motoring out along the channel, a few brave souls ventured out along the yards to untie gaskets to release sails - then sails set. Good lunch, quiet time, smoko - with small birthday cup cake, just large enough for 2 candles. Capt. Neil explained our planned voyage to the Netherlands. Weather fine, with wind building to fill sails. Finished first dog watch and had supper - not sure if moussaka or bolognese but delicious - most went to bed early to be ready for morning watch (04.00 really MORNING!) Aft starboard Watch
