STS Lord Nelson awoke at sea to a gentle swell. A whale cruising by was seen by a few lucky crew. After breakfast it was “ALL HANDS ON DECK” to brace the yards and set sails. We were sailing. Happy hour followed, then an early lunch as we were the ongoing watch. We steered through a fleet of fishing trawlers, and came within 15 miles of the Irish coast before performing a box turn (tacking!) involving a considerable amount of “2-6-HEAVE” and then into dinner. Captain Neil gave the ship’s crew a brief on progress made and the plans for taking us into Dublin.
