22/09/2008 - Tenacious
Dated: 22/09/2008
The ship sailed through the night as I joined the 4am watch. First job was to brace the yards and we sailed smoothly through the Alderney race. No-one complained of feeling the cold after our early morning burst of energy!
A stunning sunrise took us into a lovely day with smoother seas than yesterday. Everyone was glad to be more on the level, especially Rob who was discovering his wheelchair has a life of it's own.
A steady wind meant that we were able to sail all day until we dropped anchor just off the Guernsey coast line. A beautiful setting to enjoy the evening sun (and a glass or 2 of red & white for those not on duty watch).
