We arrived at Santa Cruz de La Palma at about 18:00 hours after a very pleasant warm and sunny sail. Prior to mooring we handed all the eleven sails we had set and then motored the last few miles.
Graeme once again rose to the challenge and presented us with a full Sunday beef with all the trimmings, followed by apple pie and custard. Some of the now well sated and slightly bronzed crew ventured ashore to sample the delights of carnival time in the town. A funfare was in full swing and Steve attempted to pressgang the watch onto the "scary ride" by offering to pay for them all.
The town was buzzing with the sound of samba bands on every street corner with people of all ages dressed in wonderful costumes.
