23/09/2008 - Lord Nelson
Dated: 23/09/2008
The Lord Nelson awoke this morning in Weymouth bay with glorious sunshine and a cool NE force 4 wind.
09:15 – The anchor was raised and the crew put into practice their newly acquired nautical skills by setting the sails for our journey to St Malo.
We sailed gently out of the bay and shortly before happy hour more sails were hoisted to increase speed.
10:30 – Happy hour commenced, and a happy hour was had by all! The Lord Nelson was left shining in all her glory under the midday sunshine.
By 13:00 we were cruising along at a steady speed of 6 knots and loosing sight of land quickly. The sea was relatively calm although a few members of the crew were feeling the effects of their first day at sea.
13:30 Pete (Bosun) assisted the Go Ape! Monkeys with the long climb up the main mast, it was a great opportunity and all enjoyed the spectacular views (Including the crowd on the main deck!).
