Friday 23 dawned quite windy but almost a head wind. James tried to fish but gave up in disgust and said the fish were very antisocial and refused to take the bait! We saw a few flying fish on the starboard bow. The wind swung around and we put up a few sails and were making about 5 ks and then came the rain and the wind dropped, so down came the sails. All good practice! No sooner had we done that than the wind suddenly rose to Force 8, but head on and it blew very fiercely, with us clinging to everything in sight. While handing the last sailmost of the crew got soaked by a wave coming over the starboard bow - good thing we all thought it was quite amusing.
