Following breakfast we were all summoned ashore for the traditional voyage and watch photographs, a quick talk from Capt Barbara and a really interesting brief local talk from Linda. The assisted climb began. Firstly up went Sophia clearly enjoying every moment of Marcin help! Then off went Janet like a bullet, followed by Liz who issued her own orders to the crew below. A fantastic achievement experienced by all who watched. Shore leave granted an exodus to Waterford and beyond ensued. In the evening many of us went for a wonderful evening listening to An Emigrant’s Tale – an Irish story of emigration with live music, song, dance and storytelling. Eventually everyone managed to stagger back to the ship. A terrific day.
