The Long Voyage Home
We had a lovely moon on middle watch last night and continued sailing westward into the Atlantic. We hope to find a favourable wind in the next day or so to take us north.
Peter Chief Engineer managed to catch a Tuna last night which we unde rstand measures a couple of feet in length and will be cooked and con sumed with great delight tonight.
Mike and John, our Bosuns Mates are continuing to repair some of the sails, Godfrey is sewing leather and Mo and Fi are tackling the Forth Road Bridge, task of painting the ship to make her as pretty as possi ble for the start of the next Tall Ships Race in Antwerp.
Meanwhile, life consists of watchkeeping, eating and sleeping at the moment due to the three watch system because of the size of the crew.
The sun is shining and it is a very pleasant afternoon to be on watch .
