Hello this is Hari and Vikki of aft port watch. We started today with everyone's favourite watch - midnight till 4 am... the graveyard shift. it wasn't a very quiet graveyard however as we had to man the braces clocking up some overtime at 4am in the morning - groan! The weather was good if you were a frog - not only was it cold but windy too and we had enough rain for multiple outdoor showers which is a good thing because we were using too much water anyway. We also heard dolphins although we were cruelly mocked by a couple of individuals *cough Gareth cough* who are clearly jealous because they didn't hear dolphins and instead were tucked up in bed at 4am!We were introduced to the wonders of Happy Hour on the PA and quickly rushed to the mast to see what great thing would happen. Lollipops? Sweets? A broom...?
Being a keen bean Hari quickly volunteered Vikki and her to be scrubbers because that sounded like the best job. The stunned silence that followed suggested that it wasn't. We were told that we had to find Charlie to help us, so after a couple of minutes calling for him we found him in a cupboard with Henry and used him to suck up the water. "Charlie! Charlie! Anybody seen Charlie?". The next day we also met his sister Henrietta in the downstairs cleaning cupboard. We spent ages lugging buckets of water to sluicing the decks, only for a massive wave to do our job for us a few minutes later. To Hari's delight a storm hit and we had to batten down the hatches Titanic style with the ringing bells and big metal doors. The boat was pitching and rolling, waves crashing up on deck and being on the bowsprit was sooooo exciting - I made sure everyone was clipped on! FORCE 8 winds!!!!! Ahhhhhh scary! The storm stopped. We had smoko and tea and that was the end. We played poker, gambling the night away and Vikki did another watch and Hari managed to sleep all night which was just as well as she was BRAIN DEAD!! i.e. pooped!Stay tuned, we will be back next time for more hilarious Vikki and Hari wittiness!
