We finally left port at 2.20pm and are now in the Baltic. I'm still amazed at how brilliant the fireworks were last night and doubt I'll see anything as fabulous for a long time. We tried to use our very pretty sails, but that was an epic fail because of the wind being silly. We've just had dinner, involving a very nice and messy banoffee pie...yummy!! We're taking turns on the helm, us small folk are having to use a very nice, special box because we're too small to see anything, that's what they say, really it's because were so superior to all the tall people. The fabulous people on mess duty are busy cleaning up after us messy eaters and everyone else seems to be chillaxing, very nice. I've realised and accepted now that I will never tan and in fact will always either be a ghost, blending perfectly into the ship, or be a lobster and risk being eaten for dinner, however everyone else seems to be turning a healthy brown.
Everyone seems enthusiastic about going aloft, especially Ollie Jr who has managed to climb up 6 times in the last 24 hours, a record I believe.
Looking now, we can see 8 tall ships on the horizon, it's quite a sight to see. So far the voyage seems to be going wonderfully and I'm looking forward to the adventures ahead. It seems the voyage is also bringing out a creative vibe thats spreading throughout the crew. Mick has written a lovely poem that I believe deserves a mention:
Open sea wind force four
Banoffi pie and what is more
Nobody's green we're all on great form
The forecast is gentle, no sign of a storm Sue is our watch leader, she nurtures us well Somebody strict would be utter hell Aalborg was great the fireworks quite stunning -Thats Sailing!!
