We set off from Alderney nice and early this morning. With a strong wind behind us the journey to Cherbourg took remarkably little time. Upon arriving at the outer harbour we all had a nice surprise when a huge dolphin decided to join us for part of the journey in!!4 lucky people had the fun job of being linesmen on the shore, a new experience for some.
For the first time, the ship was given permission to moor in the inner basin, right next to the town centre. The ship looked absolutely fantastic from the shore line and ensured that we received a great reception from everyone!! This provided quite a lot of interest from the large numbers of drunk French people that seemed to decide that our ship was their taxi home!! and so wanted a tour round!!(but didn't get one) Being moored up right next to the town centre gave everyone the opportunity to come and go as they pleased from the ship. Very convenient for the shops!
We are planning to leave Cherbourg tomorrow afternoon before sailing across the channel.
