25/06/2009 - Tenacious
Dated: 25/06/2009
We departed Cherbourg at 10.15. Wind speed dropped from 4 knots to 2 during the course of the day which suited the few delicate heads from the previous night ashore. Air temperature warmed from 16 to 19 degrees. The third of 4 birthdays on board were celebrated by yet another cake beautifully prepared by the wonderfully talented resident cook. Various sail combinations were tried throughout the day to gain the most from the available wind. Crew members ascended the foremast rigging in order to release the stowed sails. We were joined on our voyage by 2 beautiful painted lady butterflies, a wasp and a bee. WHALES AND DOLPHINS (were nowhere to be seen on this voyage!)
