26/07/2008 - Lord Nelson

Dated: 26/07/2008

8-12pm

After been called up to the deck early to hand the sails in there was a change of plan, just as the other watches had gone to bed! Never mind, Storm Force 10 (SF10) held our own and reset the topsails, All in all 1.5 hours were spent toning those muscles! Laura sweating the ropes wasn't enough exercise so she also spent a short while pulling Rachel's safety harness by mistake! To try to keep the sprit up we started up a watch song. Our singing was so good that a whale even graced with a brief appearance. Whale: This is what I think of your sailing "ptehew". After several days of limited repertoire our voyage song book was retrieved to continue singing by touch light. Whilst singing every song again, we are beginning to wonder how many miles we have walked on the ship, Just before our watch was over the wind started to pick up and it was time to set a jib. Due to rain instructions were given by permanent crew from the chartroom (we'll bring our umbrellas up next time for them)! After doing extra time we hit our bunks for yet more sleep!
