The ship arrived in Lavrion last Tuesday and the Voyage Crew left on Wednesday, since when we've been busy with maintenance. There's been quite a bit of painting going on, David's been working on door frames, on bulkheads in various showers and on hatches. Now that Jon's finished all his weekly chart corrections, he's picked up a bit of sandpaper prior to doing some varnishwork in the Charthouse. On deck a few of the usual jobs have come round again, Godfrey's been busy re-securing or replacing leather in the rig. Steve's been making things ready below for the Engineers' main job this maintenance - changing the starboard Main Engine gearbox. The replacement is expected here tomorrow or Thursday and once changed, the original will go back for refurbishment. In the Galley meanwhile, Graham continues to feed us - and to go shopping!
We've all managed to get ashore and have a look around. Most have tried some of the local food in the bars and restaurants and some even took the bus to Athens for their half day.
