After a morning of training when we nearly all went aloft, Tenacious sailed at 1400 in sunshine and a fresh breeze. Here we are at sea off Gran Canaria, after a brilliant departure from Las Palmas by the first mate Chris. (I can say that, I’m his Dad) His Mum was on the wheel for leaving harbour so it was a bit of a family affair. Motor sailing North to clear the island, the plan is to sail North of Tenerife to the westernmost Canary isle of La Palma. We should be there in about 48 hours and Captain John has promised us a “run ashore”. So the sun is shining and all’s well, as long as this lumpy sea doesn’t get much lumpier!
