27/06/2010 - Tenacious

Dated: 27/06/2010

It's Sunday, a rather unusual Sunday. The Captain can be seen moving about the ship dressed in the style of a Chinese pirate and working in the galley. On the other hand, the Cooks Assistant, aka, the Cooks Ass, is walking about the ship in a white shirt with four bars on each shoulder, denoting her new roll as Captain. All rather confusing.

Unfortunately, there is still no wind, but there is a swell moving at right angles to the ships head. The sun is out and it is warm.

Last night Red Watch was on the midnight till 0400 stint, and as it w as a beautiful clear night, had a very good view of the International Space Station crossing from one horizon to the other in the night sky. Just at the moment, the watch are busy trying to shoot the sun with several sextants. Very complicated, but it appears that they must have a reading by 1400 hours here, which is the same as 1200 at Greenw ich . No I don't understand it either.

All for now from Red Watch. Bill, Mac, David, Julie, Mark, Joe, Dan a nd Dick.

1200 miles to Antwerp.
