We were woken up with "Ding ding ding, good morning campers rise and shine on a beautiful day" by Sarah on the tannoy. This was followed by a hilarious breakfast where George recited his usual rendition of jokes.
We handed the sails just before breakfast, in readiness for going into harbour. I had a watch at 8.00, and we took the ship into Scheveningen, in Holland at 1030.(Captain Simon had tried to get a berth in Amsterdam, but there is a festival there and no berths were available.) We turned the ship round, moored and then we ate lunch - a delicious pasta dish. After lunch we were granted shore leave and most of us went into town or to the beach, although some people were slightly more adventurous and took the tram into Den Haag.
