Boarding was from 1600 and the weather was fine and dry, a good omen perhaps! All signed on, kit issued and night safety brief done, the crew were able to relax after a long day of travelling.
Not such good weather on the start of day 2. Full briefing after a hearty breakfast then evacuation drills and mast climbing. Bracing practice and rope handling after lunch meant we got under way around 1600 hrs by which time the weather had improved and we left Monaco bathed in sunshine.
Headed for Portofino, Italy (course 080) with upper and lower topsails set on main and foremast. Early evening saw the lights of southern France passing by on the port side. Wind WSW,force 4, boat speed 4 knots. All's well.
