28/05/2009 - Lord Nelson

Dated: 28/05/2009

After sheltering from stormy weather for nearly 24 hours, we finally weighed anchor at 5am, to make the most of the calmer sea.

All hands to deck, lots of sail handling ensued! After a morning of unpredictable weather and a lack of wind the, Isle of Man was finally sighted on the horizon. Dotty boat launched with linesman to moor up Nelly safely, gang way set for Manx unpredictable tides, crew free to roam ashore for a limited time due to the tidal range, which caught some crew members by surprise because the gang way was nearly vertical, thankfully the crew was on hand to hoist and help people onto the ship.
