28/05/2010 - Tenacious

Dated: 28/05/2010

Nothing prepares you for the splendour of the ancient city of Constantinople when we sailed in on Tenacious. As you enter the Bospheros, we sailed along with the rest of the fleet in the parade of sail and eventually came in alongside.

A very hot day gorgeous blue skies, little bumpy alongside. We wondered wether any speed restrictions on passing vessels applied as I think the rest of the fleet did too!

Lunch on deck, quick happiness then shore leave once docking paperwork complete.

Much crew partying to be heard along the quayside as various vessels host guests and introduce them to their culture.

Many ships had open days including ourselves everybody was eager to view our ship and find out about what we do.

During the awards Cookie Graham was presented with an award for the longest time at sea (we were last to dock) which he accepted with grace. Tenacious was also presented with an awrad for best radio communication at sea.

Sadness fell as all voyage crew prepare for goodbyes and their journeys home - its been another wonderful trip on Tencious. Many will be keeping in touch and sailing again... some have already booked!!.

And may we say a hearty thanks to everyone onboard voage crew and permanent crew for making it such an enjoyable memory.
