28/08/2010 - Lord Nelson

Dated: 28/08/2010

This is too early to get up! Forward Port watch is on from 4.00-8am on our last ever harbour watch for our voyage on STS Lord Nelson.

Our watch have all had a good time with many highlights:

-dolphin spotting

-seeing a seal in Milford Haven dock

-being on watch (and Ruth on the helm) during our helicopter visit

-witnessing Barbara our captain attack Jon 2nd mate with a (wooden) sword after he ate all her chocolate

Plus many many more fun times!

We only managed x1 vomit due to sea sickness !!

Everyone has been dying slightly with coughs (Ruth!) and colds!

Ruth and Kirsty have been hiding all week in their cabin with the rolling clicking door … a secret hide-a-way till mid week from most of the crew. Rachel has been hiding in her bunk in a ‘hole in the wall’ bunk, in the wall of the lower mess. Sleeping through the sods opera which as won by our watch!!! We think we won due to the ‘2 flashing lights and reclining seats’ plus our teashop sketch using the permanent crew:

Dave as a washing machine, Nat as a microwave, Neil as a cuckoo clock and Jon as a quiet coffee percolator: 4 mugs!!

Ooh mustn’t forget the ongoing saga of the baby (hot water bottle) said in the Northern Big Brother accent! Kirsty was so cold she wore all her clothes plus had Ruth’s ‘spot’ hot water bottle down her top and looked very pregnant … a scan revealed a ‘baby’ which later fell out of her coat – a new baby was born out of Tesco at Milford Haven!

We hope everyone who is still waiting to sail has a good voyage.

Forward Port Watch.

Ruth, Rachel, Amy, Rachael, Jo, Stacey, Kirsty, Robyn and Rosie.
