Due to the gyro compass being broken we joined Tenacious in Poole and spent the night in harbour. We all had a chance to meet our fellow watchmen and learnt about life on board. On Monday afternoon some of us had the chance to climb to the first platform and learn about the sails and yards. Monday evening was free time for crew and we all enjoyed catching some rays!
On Tuesday the engineer came with the new part to fix the gyro - hurray! We also received a food delivery - hurray! Everyone helped bring supplies on board via a human chain. Crew were pleased to set sail at around 7pm on Tuesday and we anchored for the night ten miles off Poole. The sea was fairly calm overnight and crew played a variety of games.
After breakfast on Wednesday we set the sails and started our journey towards Bologne. The weather is misty and damp but crew spirits are high.
Those on watch are being kept busy with other ships passing. So far, great fun!
