30/07/2008 - Lord Nelson

Dated: 30/07/2008

Our wake up call came extra early this morning with a request to be on deck for 6am to hand in sails and brace yard arms to wear ship-its surprising the number of activities you can do on ship in your pyjamas!

Whilst other watches were tidying up we stood down just it time to secure another hearty breakfast and get dressed for the day before our watch started proper. The wind is still strong and its great to be sailing still-6/7 knts of boat speed in 20-25Knts of wind. Unfortunately the wind is coming from the east so we are not making much progress t o Maloy although we did receive a pat on the back for our course between 9-10am-well done Cas and Tamzin. Happy hour activities included being on hands and knees scrubbing the bridge deck. With the large waves, the tilt of the boat and some happy hour water some members of the watch nearly got washed overboard. Cas is not best pleased as we also managed to get water half way up her only pair of trousers-it was the winds fault honest!
