We left Las Palmas in the early afternoon to a very bouncy and lively sea. Sails were set and the motion of the ship got better under sail. Dinner was a delicious chicken in white wine sauce. Unfortunately Forward Starboard watch was on an 8pm to midnight watch so we could not join the fun in the bar that evening. We had a nice uneventful time crossing the channel between Las Palmas and the headlands of Tenerife. We are making for Santa Cruz de La Palma and will sail over another night to arrive in the morning. This morning we set the t’gallants and new crew got to learn the joy of hauling on the halyard to raise the yard. Now we are preparing for a Man Overboard Drill. We will be heaving to – backing a sail to stop the ship.
